If you plan to go camping with your kids make sure you bring a tablets, laptops, and maybe even your smartphone full of videos
This is something I learned by trial and error. My mother was always there to remind me that I need to be prepared for everything. My excitement at taking my first camping trip with my grandchildren and my kids was the only thing I shared with my mother. Now, she's all over me, offering tips and advice for every scenario that could arise. I'm not afraid of her speaking, but listening to her lectures makes me feel uncomfortable, so I tried to conclude it quicker than I ought to have. This was a huge error.
We took our car along with us and drove to the camping site. I was hoping to recreate the rural adventure I shared with my father back in the day so I chose one of the remotest places. It proved to be not in a location that had internet access. This meant that our phones weren't working, and we were the only camping campers in the region. I'm sorry. I had hoped for to have a great time off from at work.. Three days in the wilderness, surrounded by nature.. Within 24 hours of the camping adventure, we were back in the car.

What was the situation? We didn't have Internet or bars, and we had nothing... I had a laptop and some online games and didn't get it out of the bag.. I had a gorgeous background to display the trees. They just wanted to get up to speed with their schoolwork, check their emails, and text me. We packed our bags and returned as I could not bear it anymore. My kids were sounding exactly like little piglets consuming delicious food items when we left the wifi-less area. Seriously... Don't think I'm being naive, I love my kids.. But that was simply embarrassing. They squealed, and moaned when their phones began to beep and signalling incoming text messages and emails.

Since then, I've become more prepared and have tried to avoid an internet-less zone which doesn't permit roaming. On a long trip on the boat to get to our destination, we needed our new best buddies. Two laptops and two tablets were loaded with Hulu video offline downloads, Netflix movies and show on one and all my music videos on the other. I also used the Windows app store that has both Hulu apps as well as Netflix apps. I've got around 600 hours of material to watch which includes the complete Will & Grace, Friends and South Park seasons and added episodes.
For my kids, I have a lof of videos of funny things, I downloaded a few music videos from Youtube and converted them to MP3 and MP4 formats to watch or listen. I utilized this application to download some videos. It lets me save the video to my laptop , and I can view it offline, providing there is electricity. I DVR many TV Shows as well as seminars, films, and movies on the internet. The video files are saved in format MP4 on my laptop. I can then open them up later using VLC or KMP.
4k is another thing I insist upon. Have you ever seen? It's incredible! I highly recommend it. New TVs that allow 4k images have excellent software within the TV that process that image and improves it, upscaling it and makes it more appealing. Old video looks so much better on a TV. Even though it isn't excellent, it can be transformed into a smooth, modern video. All girls and boys will love it!
